SA BATTERY SCHEME INCENTIVE
SA Battery Scheme Incentive
One way to increase solar self-consumption is to have a battery storage system installed. From October 2018, thousands of South Australian households have access to $100 million in State Government subsidies to pay for the installation of home battery systems.
The Scheme will directly reduce electricity costs for the 40,000 households that purchase a subsidised household energy storage system. The installation of the systems will reduce demand on the network (especially at peak periods) and lower prices for all South Australians.
The subsidy is applied to the battery component only, participating households can apply for finance made available through the Commonwealth Government’s Clean Energy Finance Corporation to help pay for the balance of the battery and to purchase new or additional solar panels, if required.
The subsidy is calculated on the kilowatt hour capacity of the battery being installed, and capped for everyone at a maximum of $6,000 per battery installed.
Finding the best solar panels for your home may feel like a daunting challenge. There are more than a hundred different brands of solar panels and other solar equipment on the market at any given time, you’ll need to determine which of the top companies’ panel models offer the right combination of price and quality for your needs.
